🤝 Doing good is a trend: "O'zTTBRM" youth dive into the culture of volunteering!

Jun 19 2026

On the eve of Youth Day, we held an inspiring and very warm event — an open dialogue on the topic of "Forming a Culture of Volunteering".

Young specialists of our Center (O'zTTBRM LLC) together with colleagues from the State Institution "Center for the Development of Digital Education" met with true leaders and drivers of the country's volunteer movement.

🎙 Our speakers and guests of honor were:

Shirin Abidova — Advisor to the Director of the Youth Affairs Agency and Head of the Association of Volunteers of Uzbekistan;

Mirsaid Uzakov — Coordinator of the UN Volunteers (UNV) program in Uzbekistan;

Ilkhom Yuldashev — Project Manager of the Association of Volunteers.

The guests shared real-life cases, talked about the international experience of the UN Program, and how the initiatives of ordinary people are changing the lives of entire regions.

🌍 Why is volunteering important for Uzbekistan?

The tradition of mutual assistance — hashar — is already deeply embedded in our cultural code. Today, it has transformed into a modern, organized institution of civil society.

A bit of statistics: According to the national platform volontyor.uz, tens of thousands of young people are officially involved in the country's volunteer movement. Youth make up about 60% of the population of Uzbekistan, and they are the main engine of social change today.

Major projects: Volunteers are the invisible heroes of large-scale initiatives. They plant millions of trees as part of the nationwide "Yashil Makon" project, save the ecology of the Aral Sea region, help low-income families through charitable foundations, and provide support at major international summits.

Why do IT and telecom professionals need this? Participating in social projects powerfully boosts soft skills (empathy, teamwork, leadership) and helps you look at your work from a broader perspective. Technology and digitalization work best when there are caring people behind them.

This meeting was an excellent step towards our youth integrating more actively into social projects and bringing their digital skills to the country's charitable and environmental initiatives! 🚀
